The album is also available on vinyl in our Bandcamp store and in limited stores in Athens, Amsterdam and Utrecht: Syd RecordsHomcore, Synthesizers & Vinyl in Athens (GR), Velvet Music in Amsterdam and Koffie Leute in Utrecht.

Athens Voice (official) premiered the album last Wednesday, while Here Comes The Flood kicked off album reviews yesterday, naming the album “a true desert island disc, with no set rules, making it impossible to pigeonhole”.

The album will be presented live in a series of forthcoming concerts in Utrecht 12 & 18 of May, Any Other + Logout | EKKO in Brewpub de Kromme Haring and Logout – Instore at Koffie Leute and in De Ruimte on the 9th of June, with a date for Athens currently being confirmed.

N91° is the story of a desert island outcast waking up on a sandy beach, without any recollection of the past. Gradually he starts remembering what brought him there, by the little things he finds on his torn clothes: a plane ticket, a handwritten note saying “love me like there’s no tomorrow”, a part of cloth from a kite. A motionless woman is lying close to him on the sandy beach. Logic and time unwind, as the memory of the accident returns. In reality or in a dream, the woman awakes and the two of them sail in wild waters beyond the 90 latitude parallels of the map.

This story is composed through the accumulation of songs written between 2007 and 2016. The songs were recorded and mixed between 2016 and 2018. All instruments were played or programmed by LOGOUT, with additional vocals on ‘Bayorsai’ by Nalyssa Green, Zoe Lianou and Themis Tsitsos. The album was mastered at Sweetspot Productions in Athens, GR in early 2018 by Dimitris Papadimitriou. The album artwork as well as pre-release digital art videos for “Pesssoan Odyssey”, “Love Me”, “Bayorsai” and “When It Was Not Too Late” were designed by metaphorms.

DIY takes time. Watch this video of Leo Meijer folding the sleeve for the Bonnie Prince Billy & Naked Shortsellers split 7″ that we released a few months ago. He did 333 copies like this… (w/ a little help from our friends)

It was sold out, but we unearthed a few copies from our attic stock. There are 10 more copies for sale right now in our Bandcamp store:

The World of Dust new single & album announcement

Samsara, the new album by The World of Dust will be released on March 1, 2019 on CD and LP. First single Blood is out now, listen on Soundcloud:

Samsara is effectively a full-length collaboration between The World of Dust’s Stefan Breuer and Todd Tobias (Guided By Voices, Robert Pollard, Circus Devils). Previously contributing keyboard arrangements for 2015’s World of Dust album Womb Realm, Tobias created all the instrumental backdrops for Samsara’s evocative songs. A shadowy universe of forlorn beauty, this lo-fi bedroom pop experiment is shrouded in elemental imagery and laden with ennui. Intimate and wistful, Samsara mines a similarly rich emotive seam to artists like Mount Eerie, Sparklehorse and Pedro the Lion.

The process for Samsara saw Tobias send Breuer 26 instrumental ideas, from which Breuer chose those which resonated with him most. Over the course of nearly two years, Breuer wrote and refined an especially personal suite of lyrics, reflecting his struggles with his mental health and his experience of becoming a father. The result is World of Dust’s most fully realized and vivid album to date.

This album will be released in The Netherlands by Tiny Room Records, in Belgium by Honest House, in Germany by Stereo Dasein and in Australia by Hidden Shoal (who also do licensing). Later in 2019, MOORWORKS will release Samsara in Japan.

About Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy – The Best of Folks:
“The Best Of Folks is as much a guide for survival in a world of increasing alienation and digital dependency, as it is a highlight of a long-running career.”

About Naked Shortsellers – Harbour Men
“Occupying an alt.county hinterland made up of pedal steel guitars, shimmering twangs and sweeping aural vistas, this is a track that perfectly encapsulates those long winter nights.”

New split 7″ by Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Naked Shortsellers

This is happening! To top off a brilliant year full of beautiful releases, we end 2018 with a bang. An intimate & sad bang though, ha! Our biggest international release so far…

On December 21st, we’ll release a split 7″ by American indie hero Bonnie Prince Billy and new Utrecht supergroup Naked Shortsellers. Two new songs to celebrate the long-term relationship by highly acclaimed musician Will Oldham and Dutch musician (and Oldham’s webmaster) Leo Meijer. It’s beyond perfect.

This is the cover of the sleeve, a painting made by Rik Berkhout. More info this week!
