New signing: Coaster

Finally it’s time again to welcome some fresh, new blood into the Tiny Room family! We’d like to introduce you to Coaster, the shimmering slowcore outfit of Bart Appel & Paul Dijkman. First singles Detach and What You’re Doing To Me are already out into the world – go to Spotify or Bandcamp and find out for yourself why we’re so siked. This is our kinda jam!

Their debut LP Painted Faces comes out on Tiny Room Records on April 5th, 2024. A week later (on Thursday April 11th), their release show takes place in dB’s, with support by the mighty Immen. More news soon!

Microwolf – Burning Crops (single out now!)

We’re happy to announce that we’re back from our little release-hiatus with this new artist, single and album announcement! We welcome Microwolf to our Tiny Room family. In September, his amazing fourth album Changelings will come out on our label. 

Today, we’re releasing the first single from this record, Burning Crops. This jazzy postfolktrip is at the center of a record about both the blissful and the heavier sides of becoming a father. Burning Crops, a song about letting go of the ego, falls in between these sides. There are guest appearances by Romke Burger, Jarno van Es and Arno Breuer.

There’s a new LOGOUT single to listen to! ’15 Avgoustou’ (August 15th) is available now on all digital platforms. The song is the closing track of his sixth album ‘Ponemela’, that comes out in autumn 2022. 

LOGOUT says about the song in his own words: “Every summer, the city of Athens gradually goes quieter and quieter, as the rising heat drives Athenians crazy and forces them to leave it all behind and disappear in hidden places near the sea. The peak of this peaceful gradient comes in the 15th of August, where one can almost sunbathe in the middle of the formerly busiest highways. This track is about that day, about the “rebellious” act of going away but also about a loner who stayed behind, strolling in the empty city & holding on to a frail thread to someone far away.”

Let’s welcome Ilsha to the Tiny Room family!

We’d like to welcome a new addition to our family! On October 29, we will release the magnificent debut LP by Rotterdam-based folk outfit Ilsha. All songs are written by Ilse Hamelink, who is (as you can see on this picture) just as happy with this collaboration as we are. In the band are some old and new faces, that you might recognize from bands like Herrek, Bonne Aparte and The Secret Love Parade.

Stay tuned: tomorrow we’ll share a song and start the pre-orders (limited edition of 100, very cool looking and immensely great sounding 45RPM vinyl records).

New single by The World of Dust: Goodbye

Tiny Room Records and Hidden Shoal are excited to announce the first single from True Sound, the new album by The World of Dust, the musical project of Stefan Breuer, featuring Todd Tobias (Guided by Voices, Robert Pollard, Circus Devils). The single is available to stream on SoundCloud and the album will see release on the 10th of September 2021 through Tiny Room Records, Stereo Dasein and Hidden Shoal. Listen to ‘Goodbye’ here:

In some ways a concept album, True Sound charts a very personal exploration of the life and death of Stefan Breuer’s grandparents. The unique overarching narrative that plays out with each song, and the warmth of the delivery, unites the album into a moving and consistent whole. As with The World of Dust’s acclaimed previous album, Samsara, the instrumental elements on True Sound were created by Todd Tobias, who sent them to Breuer to write and sing the lyrics. Tobias’s wonderfully melodic compositions call to mind his work with Robert Pollard, creating a haunting marriage when combined with Breuer’s pure vocal tones, reminiscent of The White Birch’s Ola Flottum. 

Tiny Wine – Leaves premiere on Post-Trash

Post-Trash just premiered the first song from Tiny Wine’s debut EP Archer. Check it out on their website or below if you’re into lo-fi tape goodness!

They also wrote some cool words: “It sounds warped and faded, rippling from another time with lo-fi beauty. There’s a backward ambiance to it, with just the voices, sparse guitar, and the simple crack of the rhythm holding it together like homemade glue. It’s a dreamy song that pulls on those themes of nostalgia. The band work a nice buzzing guitar riff and a catchy whistled melody for a bit of texture as things crackle to a close.”

Tiny Wine signs with Tiny Room Records – debut EP Archer out December 22

To top off this year, we added another great lo-fi indie outfit to our roster! Meet Tiny Wine from New Hampshire, USA. A new band formed out of nostalgia in the remembrance of good times. Inspired by the likes of Daniel Johnston and others in the hopes to feel what you used to feel. 

Debut EP Archer will be out on vinyl, cassette and digital on December 22, in collaboration with SALTY SPEAKERs. Stay tuned for some ear-magic coming next week.
