The press has been super positive about Atmosfere:
Louder Than War: “It’s one of life’s luxuries to inform others about a record that alters your outlook on life; even if the altered state is fleeting. This latest release by Tiny Room […] is one such. Reader, it’s glorious.” Here Comes The Flood: “All tracks are invitations to dream and wonder” De Subjectivisten: “A special and beautiful album, for which comparisons cannot easily be made” Felt That: “Relish the softness and gentless of this humble soundtrack for every day use” The Vinyl District: “Atmosfere is just over too damned quickly”
Combo Qazam’s first single Ions is about the molecular. At the same time, the music flows through the body and keeps us warm. It rumbles mechanically but has humanity in every attack. Combo Qazam is inspired by everything postpunk/kraut/math/noise, life in general, communication, solitude & group communities. The song is about detachment with hope lurking around the corner: it is precisely the digital, massive and global society that offer opportunities to break existing structures and celebrate life together.

The second album by psychedelic duo Moonchy & Tobias has been released! ‘Atmosfere’ is more, eh, atmospheric, and subdued than the debut album (that was all over the place – in a good way). This is an album you can play at Sunday breakfast, or during Christmas with your parents. Well, if you (and your parents) are into parallel universes and magic fairies, because it’s still not the kind of folk you might be used to. The childlike voice of Pat Moonchy blends together perfectly with Todd Tobias’ soft strumming and fingerpicking. It’s like Múm did an opera of Linda Perhacs’ songs. In Italian. Gotta love it!

In celebration of the upcoming tour in Japan (starting next week already), The World of Dust is releasing a new video and single today! The video is a combination of collages and landscape videos that Stefan Breuer made in Norway & Sweden this summer. The lyrics have been translated to Japanese, so all the new fans over there will also know what he is singing about (which is insecurity, doubts, trust, the usual dismals).

Today marks the release of the second single of the new Moonchy & Tobias album Atmosfere, a beautiful song called Dall’Occhio.
On Dall’Occhio (Italian for “From The Eye”) – Moonchy & Tobias’ Atmosfere reaches its dreamy apex as Tobias‘s chiming guitar arpeggios and Moonchy’s haunting vocal sound as if they’re emanating from a submarine underworld, bubbling up to the surface in search of redemption.
Like every year, we are present at the Onafhankelijke Label Markt in the Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam. It’s this Sunday! We’ll bring some goodies, like ‘sold out’ stuff that we found somewhere in a box in the attic. It’ll be good. You can listen to all the records at our stand, and we’ll be happy to talk to you about music.
There will also be lots of friends and other great labels. We’ll be sharing the stand (harmless Dutch tradition) with Snowstar, but with Subroutine, Coaster, Moving Furniture, Winter-Light, Geertruida and Narrominded you can’t really go wrong either. Just come over and enjoy these releases with us!
Behold! It’s the first single and title track taken from ‘Atmosfere’, the forthcoming second album by art-rock duo Moonchy & Tobias. The album will see release on the 18th of October 2019 through Tiny Room Records and Hidden Shoal.
Our own Canadian psych-folkie Astral Swans is gonna play as the support for I am Oak, on their release show in hometown Utrecht… Awesome news!
If you saw Astral Swans perform during his Dutch tour in December ’18, you know you’re in for a treat. If you didn’t, now is your chance. The new I am Oak album is called Osmosis, and it’s fantastic (pleonasm, I know). So head on over to De Nijverheid on September 15!
Between 2001 and 2017, Circus Devils – the Ohio freak-rock trio founded by Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices) – released 14 full-length albums, each containing its own distinct sound and story-world. Remaining firmly under the radar throughout its run, the band provoked head scratching from music critics while providing fans with experimental cinema for the ears.
In ‘Circus Devils: See You Inside’, band member Todd Tobias offers a personal glimpse into the band’s playfully dark, psychedelic world. The very well-written A5 book has 204 pages, is in full colour, and has stories and images that every fan of Circus Devils, Todd Tobias or Robert Pollard will enjoy.
This is the first book released on Tiny Room Records. We are beyond psyched! It will see the light of day in September, but you can pre-order it by going here.
