Kristóf Hajós – Goodbye Budapest (single)

Single Goodbye Budapest by Kristóf Hajós is out now! 🙌

Kristóf’s second single from his upcoming album, 6:00PM, is a true origin story in more senses. This dynamic indie-pop song pictures him leaving his city on a flight, which is (by some miracle) not late. Just on time. The bitterness and the sweetness of connections to the past both appear in the song.

The music for Goodbye Budapest, which is released in both English and Hungarian was written by a true Hungarian legend, László Pásztor, who founded and wrote most songs for the immensely popular disco – pop band of the iron curtain era, Neoton. He went on to sell more than six million records from Hungary to Japan, also winning the Grand Prix of the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in 1983. Pásztor, now aged 79, took his guitar out of its retirement of over 20 years for this song only.

Boeije – Dishoek (single)

With a few (Dutch) words, a lot of repetition and a languid, lo-fi sound, the Rotterdam-based Boeije has tried to capture the long and sometimes high dune crossings of Walcheren in music. The high steps in the hot sun, the glistening sea when you reach the top of the dune crossing.

Valkenisse does not sound that nice., the song Zoutelande already exists, so Dishoek seemed the best name to him. Also because Dishoek was the beach where he fell in love as a seventeen-year-old with a girl who stood on his towel because of the warm sand.

Dishoek is the first single from Boeije‘s debut LP Uit Gewoonte en Bijgeloof, which will be released in the fall on Tiny Room Records.
