Three Friends of Winter by Hako, I am Oak and The World of Dust out now

We are proud to release this special project on the longest night of the year, the winter solstice. Three Friends of Winter is an intercontinental collaboration between Hako (Osaka, Japan), I am Oak, and The World of Dust (both Utrecht, the Netherlands).

Beyond the fact that the song is released by three friends on the first day of winter, Three Friends of Winter is also an art concept inspired by pine, bamboo, and plum. Together, these three symbolize steadfastness, perseverance, and resilience. We are all very happy we finished this recording and are finally putting it out into the world!

The music was composed by Hako, Stefan, and Thijs. The lyrics were written by Stefan (first part) and Thijs (second part). The single is now available digitally on a platform of your choice, as well as on a limited-edition transparent square 7” (in the Tiny Room Records Bandcamp store).

Demain Sans Faute – La Fête Est Finie (cassette out now)

For all the lovers of cassette releases, weird experimental kraut/drone music, obscure indie etc: take a listen to this one! We’ve got 15 copies of the cassettes in store. Have a nice weekend!

Demain Sans Faute is the solo project of Aurel (aka L’Austral) from Brest, France. His music is a rich blend of kraut, psychedelia, experimental sounds, and polyrhythms—long tracks intertwined with short improvisations on synthesizers, guitars, and percussion.

La Fête Est Finie is the fourth album by Demain Sans Faute, recorded and mixed at the Epicericords studio in Finistère, France, between February and April 2025. This concise album features two long pieces, improvised and then rearranged, before finally being re-injected into a small feedback table.

Jake Nicoll – Supercritical

And here’s yet another awesome video and beautiful song from the new Jake Nicoll record Saturn Returns – out August 1st!

On Saturn and the other gas giant planets there are substances under so much pressure that they no longer act like liquid or gas, but instead become supercritical fluid. Even here, deep in the Earth we find water in this state, eventually billowing out from hydrothermal vents.

Maybe this fleshy human substance we call Society has reached this point. Clamped in the impossible pressures of late-stage capitalism, every day facing potential world annihilation -perhaps in these conditions we will discover a new state of being.

New video and pre-order for Todd Tobias’ Blue Mansions CD release

We’re excited to announce the upcoming release of Blue Mansions, the sumptuous new album from Todd Tobias. The album mines an immersive, ethereal and otherworldly vein. Tobias describes Blue Mansions as “a collection of 14 aeriform vignettes – each a sleepy, wistful and brief visit to a welcoming space that feels both warm and remote.”

The video for first single Blue Mansion IX is out now. Watch it here:

Blue Mansions is available for pre-order via Bandcamp (see below) and sees official release on the 23rd of May. The music is available for licensing across tv, film, web and more via Hidden Shoal.

Kristóf Hajós – Goodbye Budapest (single)

Single Goodbye Budapest by Kristóf Hajós is out now! 🙌

Kristóf’s second single from his upcoming album, 6:00PM, is a true origin story in more senses. This dynamic indie-pop song pictures him leaving his city on a flight, which is (by some miracle) not late. Just on time. The bitterness and the sweetness of connections to the past both appear in the song.

The music for Goodbye Budapest, which is released in both English and Hungarian was written by a true Hungarian legend, László Pásztor, who founded and wrote most songs for the immensely popular disco – pop band of the iron curtain era, Neoton. He went on to sell more than six million records from Hungary to Japan, also winning the Grand Prix of the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in 1983. Pásztor, now aged 79, took his guitar out of its retirement of over 20 years for this song only.

Boeije – Dishoek (single)

With a few (Dutch) words, a lot of repetition and a languid, lo-fi sound, the Rotterdam-based Boeije has tried to capture the long and sometimes high dune crossings of Walcheren in music. The high steps in the hot sun, the glistening sea when you reach the top of the dune crossing.

Valkenisse does not sound that nice., the song Zoutelande already exists, so Dishoek seemed the best name to him. Also because Dishoek was the beach where he fell in love as a seventeen-year-old with a girl who stood on his towel because of the warm sand.

Dishoek is the first single from Boeije‘s debut LP Uit Gewoonte en Bijgeloof, which will be released in the fall on Tiny Room Records.
