New album by The World of Dust

We are very excited to announce the next Tiny Room release: the new album by The World of Dust, called Womb Realm. The album will be released on CD/digital on the 29th of September, 2015. Listen to the first single Space Mountain here:

Womb Realm is a gentle, quiet album. Eight fragile songs, written in the peaceful serenity of the French Auvergne during the summers of 2013 and 2014. Stefan Breuer recorded the basic tracks in 2014 in his own studio, after which his hero Todd Tobias (longtime collaborator of Robert Pollard/Guided By Voices) added the arrangements. An intimate, soothing sound was born, later completed with the addition of backing vocalists including Toby Goodshank (The Moldy Peaches), Matthew Swann (Astral Swans), Thijs Kuijken (I Am Oak) and Julien Pras (Mars Red Sky).

This post is about streaming music in general, and streaming Lost Bear in particular. We think streaming is a good thing. Because we don’t know if you like your music to be streaming on this great website, or on the Luisterpaal, or on Spotify, TIDAL, iTunes, Deezer, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, YouTube, Google Play, 7digital, eMusic, Duke, Media Markt, Nokia MixRadio, Rara, Rdio or on Xbox Music, we decided to let it stream everywhere. Choose your own path and let the sounds of Monkey Pop stream through your veins!

Monkey Pop is out now!

Lost Bear’s Monkey Pop is out now. This second record contains dark, groovy, hypnotic indie rock songs with hints at psychedelica, lo-fi and krautrock. Bands such as Liars, Weird War, The Clean and Black Heart Procession come to mind. Using only a 4-track cassette tape recorder and some basic instruments, this is Lost Bear at its most focussed and urgent ever.

Listen/order here:

Lost Bear will play two shows surrounding this release:
31-may-2015 @ SUB071, Leiden, w/ Pile, Life Savings
10-jun-2015 @ ACU, Utrecht, w/ Carsick Cars

Of course they will bring copies of the cassette they made of Monkey Pop (limited edition of 25), which you can also buy on the Bandcamp link above.

Todd Tobias – Tristes Tropiques

TT_TT_digital
The new album by Todd Tobias is called Tristes Tropiques. We will release this beautiful album on June 9th, 2015. You can listen to the first single Suvarnabhumi here:

Tristes Tropiques takes its title from the book by French anthropologist Claude Levi Strauss, which literally translates as ‘sad tropics’. Tobias sought to evoke far-flung places where indigenous cultures have either vanished or are in the process of being swallowed up by an ever-expanding global civilization. Sinister yet alluring, these musical environments throb with sensuality, danger and promise.

Three copies left of Impossible Cities 2
