This Sunday it’s time again for the annual Onafhankelijke Labelmarkt! We’re very excited, because this is one of those events where the love for music and physical releases is almost tangible. So many good labels with beautiful releases are present here, it’d be hard to choose where to spend your money on. We’ll be there among our friends of Snowstar, Ducktape, Moving Furniture, Katzwijm, Subroutine, Coaster and everybody else of course. Amazing & surreal to see everybody again, after 12 months… This Sunday, 12h-18h, free, Tolhuistuin Amsterdam. See you there!
Damn, that was a super really beautiful awesome day… This was our best Onafhankelijke Label Markt so far, we could have brought more of those Combo Qazam copies for sure! Thanks for all the talks, purchases, laughs and organizing this event. Highly appreciated.
On February 26, we host an awesome night full of indie rock, punk and experimental electronics in OCCII (Amsterdam). We do this with likeminded platform Katzwijm, the famous (well, in our circles, but they should be known worldwide) studio, record label, beer brewery and show organizing collective from Voorhout. Super siked and heel gezellig!
On the bill are The Johns and True Dreams, both from Brooklyn, NYC. The former will surprise us with a mix of garage folk with Caribbean influences. New album Forge is out now and it’s great. True Dreams is a feminist garage punk duo, a catchy as hell slap in the face.
From our own roster we provide post-punkers Combo Qazam, who are gearing up to the release of their debut album in May, and electronic folk hero LOGOUT, who started to sing in his native Greek language recently. We hope to see you all in Amsterdam!
Yes, we know our big 5 Year Anniversary Party was a few months ago. But hey, we’re a super small indie label and we just didn’t find the time to edit an aftermovie. UNTIL NOW! Footage from all artists, to capture a bit of the magic from that last weekend of November 2019 and put a smile on our faces again.
Queen of the Meadow will be back in The Netherlands this week! After a very successful performance on our 5 year anniversary party, the queen will play a solo set opening for Emily Jane White on her Dutch shows. Very exciting news indeed!
At the end of this month, we celebrate that Tiny Room Records exists for five years! Come to De Kromme Haring on November 30. 36 releases and 221 shows later, we are still going strong. So much good stuff to look back to, and so many awesome new things coming up in the future.
But on November 30, we enjoy the present moment of our lovely scene with live concerts by Queen of the Meadow (FR), Garciaphone (FR), Taïfun (BE), Naked Shortsellers (NL) and Combo Qazam (NL). The GNI Collective will rock the turntables and we will release a very special ART ZINE, full of visual work from all of the associated musicians.
It’s overwhelming to see how the label found a solid and respected place in the underground scene. Proud of the hard work that made this possible. Not only by me (Stefan), but definitely by all the musicians making these cool records, by Anneke Nieuwdorp for visual input on the label identity (among other never-ending support), Thijs Kuijken for his endless patience and knowledge in the DTP-field, Gino Miniutti for help with the bookings, Tammo Kersbergen for his beautiful mastering skills, Luca Dattisi for his superbe internship earlier this year, and everybody from the scene who helps out during the life-changing events in Studio Patrick and De Kromme Haring. Hope to see you all on November 30 in Utrecht!
The World of Dust is going on tour in Japan! The album Samsara is coming out on Moorworks October 1, 2019. Right after that, he will play 7 shows in 7 cities, all together with I am Oak.
This Sunday, we celebrate the beautiful new release of LOGOUT in De Ruimte in Amsterdam. LOGOUT presents the story and music of the electronic folk concept album N91 during this special event. Don’t miss it!
Canadian psych folk artist Astral Swans is visiting The Netherlands for 8 shows, starting next week!
We are super super excited to announce this Dutch tour for our Canadian friend Astral Swans. After the release of the critically acclaimed Strange Prison in May 2018, we can’t wait to hear him play these songs in a live setting.
A lot of the dates are with other Tiny Room bands Howart, Sven Agaath or The World of Dust. See the poster for venues, and this list of facebook event links to RSVP your ass off.
